Our client is a cutting-edge automotive robotics company revolutionizing vehicle service and automation through intelligent, robotic systems. Backed by industry leaders and driven by a team of top-tier engineers and roboticists, they are redefining what’s possible in autonomous systems. Their mission is to build robust, real-world robotics that solve complex problems in the automotive industry—at scale.

Position Overview

They are seeking a Robotics Perception Software Engineer to join our growing robotics team. In this role, you will develop and optimize perception algorithms that enable our robotic systems to understand and interact with the world around them. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our autonomous platforms in real-world automotive environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize perception algorithms for object detection, tracking, and scene understanding.

  • Fuse data from cameras, lidars, radars, and other sensors to build accurate environmental models.

  • Implement and refine SLAM, 3D reconstruction, and localization systems.

  • Develop robust sensor calibration and synchronization frameworks.

  • Contribute to real-time perception pipelines that support closed-loop robotic control.

  • Collaborate closely with hardware, planning, and controls teams to integrate perception modules into the full system stack.

  • Conduct field testing and help improve system robustness in diverse automotive settings (e.g., garages, service bays, tire shops).

Required Qualifications
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience developing software for robotic perception systems.

  • Strong experience with 3D computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion.

  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2, OpenCV, PCL, or similar frameworks.

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Experience working with sensor data from RGB cameras, lidars, radars, and IMUs.

  • Knowledge of calibration, SLAM, and real-time system constraints.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience deploying perception systems in fielded robotic products.

  • Background in automotive robotics or industrial automation.

  • Exposure to CUDA, GPU acceleration, and real-time computing.

  • Experience with simulation tools like Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Unity-based environments.

  • Familiarity with automotive environments such as ADAS, autonomous navigation, or robotic vehicle servicing.
