Job Description 

We are working with a leading home building company in TX. They have been growing their IT teams a lot over the last year or so, helping with building out new facilities and offices across numerous states. Most of their presence is in Plano, San Antonio, and Houston currently, but they are doing lots of expanding. With this current expansion and growth, they are looking for a traveling IT Tech who can provide high-level support to their regional offices. In the role you will be responsible for deskside and field support, as well as assisting with the design, testing, implementation, and support of technology solutions in the regional offices and field locations.

Contract Duration: 3-6 month contract-to-hire position

Required Skills and Experience
  • High School diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior service desk or similar IT experience required.
  • MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, or other equivalent desktop certifications preferred.
  • High-level of proficiency with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office.
  • Entry-level understanding of networking principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Promptly and professionally respond to requests for technical assistance and escalations from the Managed Service Provider (MSP) helpdesk and others.
  • Proactively visit field locations on a rotating basis (expectation = two days per week spent in the field) to ensure IT equipment is effective, reliable, neatly and professionally installed, correctly inventoried, and user/site issues are addressed and/or escalated.
  • Configure, deploy, and support various computer equipment, networking equipment, phones, hotspots, audio-video, and other equipment and software.
  • Provide hands-on and after-hours support as needed to ensure the regional offices and field locations are fully operational.
  • Communicate, resolve, and document issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Deliver the highest level of professionalism and “above and beyond” customer service.
